Expanding Food Justice: Support the SNAP CASH Act

At Shamayim, we believe that access to nourishing, plant-based food is a fundamental issue of justice. The SNAP CASH (Creating Access to Support Health) Across America Act is a critical step toward making fresh fruits and vegetables more accessible to millions of families who rely on SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program).

Right now, only 3.4% of SNAP families benefit from produce incentives, despite the well-documented health benefits of a plant-forward diet. This bill would help close that gap by providing 30 cents cash back for every dollar spent on fresh, frozen, or dried fruits and vegetables- up to $60 per month per household. This means more families will have the resources to choose fresh, nutritious foods without financial barriers.

By supporting SNAP CASH, we are working toward a food system that prioritizes both human well-being and ethical consumption.
